3/12/2008 UEFA Cup Live Radio - Bayern Munich vs Anderlecht

Anderlecht will be looking to salvage some pride in this live radio broadcast commentary of their second leg UEFA Cup meeting against Bayern Munich, after suffering a humiliating 5-0 thumping at the hands of the German champions last week. The tie was all but over by half-time as Italian Luca Toni scored Bayern's second of the game and Anderlecht saw Marcin Wasilewski sent off on the stroke of half time for two offences that resulted in yellow cards and a subsequent red. It had seemed that Altintop's stunning first goal had rocked the Belgian side's confidence and when Wasilewski was sent off for a dubious second yellow, they cracked under pressure and had no answer to Bayern's greater attacking prowess in the second half. Toni then squeezed a cross shot into the net at Anderlecht keeper Daniel Zitka's near post and that signalled the beginning of the end.

Franck Ribery was instrumental in Bayern Munich's rout of Anderlecht in the first leg and he will look to continue his good form in this live radio broadcast commentary of their match against Anderlecht in the UEFA Cup. Ribery scored a fine free kick for Bayern's fifth goal in that first meeting and given the extra space against ten men, he ran riot and could have scored and created more had Bayern Munich's strikers put the chances away. This will be Bayern's home match and with Anderlecht providing no more than a limp reply, they would be ill advised to give the French winger the space and time to once again cause problems for their defence. Luca Toni will be looking to add more goals to his season's tally as he strives to attract the attention of Italian national coach Donadoni for a place in the Italian national squad for Euro 2008. Against mediocre opposition in Anderlecht, his wishes might just be answered.
